1.At a glance
SimpleStart here
Server Premier DDR5 ECC Unbuffered is Kingston’s error-correcting DDR5 memory for unbuffered DIMM and SODIMM slots, sold under the Server Premier brand. Kingston announced it in June 2023 at 5200 and 5600MT/s 1. Its current product pages for the two form factors are titled 5600MT/s 23.
Deep diveThe technical detail
One announcement is datelined “Fountain Valley – June 12, 2023” and another “Taipei – June 15, 2023”; both announce 32GB and 16GB ECC Unbuffered DIMMs and SODIMMs at 5200 and 5600MT/s 14. The current UDIMM and SODIMM pages each list five part numbers in 16GB, 32GB and 48GB capacities 23. Kingston does not say when the 48GB parts were added 12.
2.Launch and lineup
SimpleStart here
Kingston describes Server Premier as “industry standard server class memory” for white-box systems 4.
Deep diveThe technical detail
Both releases say Server Premier is “industry standard server class memory solution sold by specification for use in white-box systems” 14, and the first quotes Mike Mohney, Sr Technology Manager DRAM, on “the availability of DDR5 5600MT/s and 5200MT/s speeds for ECC unbuffered DIMMs and SODIMMs” 1. The second version attributes the same quote only to Kingston, and carries a different title, dateline and date 4. This guide cites both and does not say why two versions exist, since Kingston does not 14.
3.What’s inside the module
SimpleStart here
Server Premier DDR5 ECC Unbuffered comes as a full-size DIMM and a small SODIMM, in 1-rank and 2-rank versions 23.
Deep diveThe technical detail
The release table lists ranks of 1Rx8 and 2Rx8 1; the current pages show 1R and 2R 23. Neither the releases nor the pages checked here give module dimensions or a heat spreader description 1423.
4.Full spec table

The release table names part numbers such as KSM56E46BS8KM-16HA and KSM56E46BD8KM-32HA 1; those two appear on the current pages too 2.
5.Where it’s made
SimpleStart here
The current part tables name the DRAM maker for every part: Micron or Hynix 23. The 2023 releases do not 14.
Deep diveThe technical detail
| Part number | Capacity | DRAM density | DRAM maker | Die revision | Component control |
|---|
| KSM56E46BS8-16MH | 16GB | 16Gbit | Micron | H | DRAM Lock |
| KSM56E46BS8KM-16HA | 16GB | 16Gbit | Hynix | A | Full Lock |
| KSM56E46BD8-32MH | 32GB | 16Gbit | Micron | H | DRAM Lock |
| KSM56E46BD8KM-32HA | 32GB | 16Gbit | Hynix | A | Full Lock |
| KSM56E46BD8KM-48HM | 48GB | 24Gbit | Hynix | M | Full Lock |
UDIMM part numbers from the current UDIMM page 2. The SODIMM page lists the same maker, density, die revision and lock values for its KSM56T46 parts 3. The releases give no DRAM maker, and name only “the on-die ECC (ODECC) featured in every DDR5 DRAM chip” 14. This guide does not explain what “DRAM Lock” and “Full Lock” mean beyond their appearance in the table.
6.What it’s compatible with
SimpleStart here
The 2023 releases say Server Premier is Intel platform validated, and that Intel and AMD systems that support ECC can use it 14. Kingston’s current Server Premier hub says it is validated with both 5.
Deep diveThe technical detail
The releases say Server Premier is “Intel platform validated and qualified by leading motherboard/system manufacturers” 14, and the first release says the ECC uses “extra DRAM to support the ECC (Error Correction Code) algorithm on enabled Intel and AMD processors” 1. The current Server Premier hub says the line is platform validated with Intel and AMD 5. The UDIMM and SODIMM pages themselves, as read for this guide, contain no validation wording 23. Kingston does not date the change in validation wording 145.
7.Official pricing
SimpleStart here
None of the Kingston sources checked states a price 125.
Deep diveThe technical detail
The releases and pages list no price or recommended price; the current UDIMM page has Buy buttons in its part table 142.
9.Where this family sits in the lineup
SimpleStart here
Kingston’s Server Premier hub currently lists four DDR5 product lines 5.
Deep diveThe technical detail
The hub lists DDR5 5600MT/s ECC Unbuffered DIMM, DDR5 5600MT/s ECC Registered DIMM, DDR5 5600MT/s ECC Unbuffered SODIMM and DDR5 6400MT/s ECC Registered DIMM 5. This guide covers the unbuffered DIMM and SODIMM pair. The hub does not list a 5200MT/s product, though a separate 5200MT/s SODIMM page exists 57.
10.Hidden in plain sight
SimpleStart here
The June 2023 releases announced 5200MT/s as well as 5600MT/s. The current 5600MT/s pages and the Server Premier hub do not mention 5200MT/s, though a separate 5200MT/s SODIMM page still exists 1257.
Deep diveThe technical detail
Both releases announce “5600MT/s and 5200MT/s” for ECC unbuffered DIMMs and SODIMMs and list four 5200MT/s parts, such as KSM52E42BD8KM-32HA 14. In the text read for this guide, the current 5600MT/s UDIMM and SODIMM pages and the hub contain no 5200 mention 235. Kingston still publishes a separate page headed “DDR5 5200MT/s ECC Unbuffered SODIMM”, whose text as read shows a heading and no part table 7; a 5200MT/s UDIMM page could not be loaded. This guide did not open the datasheet PDFs or product change notices linked from the part tables, which might say more. Kingston does not say whether the 5200MT/s parts are retired 57. The 5600MT/s pages add DRAM maker and die revision data the releases never gave 2. Both 5600MT/s headings, and the 5200MT/s SODIMM heading, carry an unrendered template tag, “{{Footnote.A65242}}”, after the speed 237.
