Lindy creates autonomous AI agents that manage your inbox, schedule meetings, research leads, run customer support and handle administrative work — without waiting for you to ask. Describe what you want in plain English. The agents run 24/7. Free tier available. Plus: $49.99 per month.
Lindy is an AI agent platform where you create autonomous assistants — called Lindies — that handle email, scheduling, research, lead generation, customer support and more. The key difference from tools like Zapier or Relay is the underlying model: instead of if-then rules ("when X happens, do Y"), Lindy uses large language models to reason about what to do. Your agents understand context, handle ambiguity and make judgment calls that rigid rule-based tools cannot.
You describe what you want in plain English. "Manage my inbox: label urgent emails, draft replies to meeting requests, and forward invoices to accounting." Lindy builds the agent from that description. No flowcharts, no node configuration, no code. You interact with your agents via the Lindy app, email, or iMessage — you can literally text your AI assistant from your phone.
Lindy is used by sales teams, executives, customer support operations and anyone whose day involves significant email, meeting and research overhead. The company claims Lindy saves professionals roughly two hours per day on administrative work.
Email management — Reads your inbox, labels and prioritises messages, drafts replies in your writing style, archives routine emails, forwards specific types to team members. Learns from how you write and respond over time.
Meeting scheduling — Handles scheduling requests end-to-end: checks your calendar, proposes times, sends invitations, updates calendar events, sends reminder prep notes before meetings, follows up after.
Lead generation and outreach — Researches prospects from a list, enriches with company data, drafts personalised outreach emails, manages follow-up sequences, updates CRM records.
Customer support — Reads incoming tickets, researches answers from your knowledge base, drafts responses, escalates issues that need a human, logs everything to your support system.
Research compilation — Searches the web, reads documents, summarises findings, compiles reports. Ask for a briefing on a company before a meeting and Lindy produces it.
Phone calls via Gaia — Lindy's voice AI (called Gaia) can make and receive phone calls autonomously for appointment scheduling, lead qualification or customer support.
Computer use — When no API exists for a tool you need, Lindy agents can navigate websites directly — clicking buttons, filling forms, extracting data — like a human sitting at a computer.
Lindy's value is highest for people with high email volume and heavy administrative overhead. Sales development representatives spending hours on research and outreach. Executives with overloaded inboxes. Customer support teams handling repetitive tickets. Operations managers running recurring multi-step processes.
It is not the right tool for developers who want to build technical integrations (use n8n or Make), for simple linear automation (use Zapier), or for teams that want to build and manage sophisticated agent frameworks from code (use LangChain or CrewAI).
ChatGPT answers questions when you ask it questions. Lindy works proactively — it monitors your inbox and acts without you initiating each request. When an email arrives at 2 AM that needs a response, Lindy drafts the reply before you wake up. ChatGPT waits for you to open it, paste the email, and ask. The gap is the difference between a tool and an assistant.
Lindy also connects to your actual apps — your Gmail, your calendar, your CRM. ChatGPT has no access to your real data unless you paste it in each time. Lindy acts on your real data automatically.
There is a free tier with 400 credits per month — enough to test simple agents but limited for active daily use. The Plus plan is $49.99 per month for 5,000 credits, unlimited agents, all integrations and a 7-day free trial with full Plus features. Enterprise pricing is custom. Phone numbers cost $10 per month each and voice calls cost $0.19 per minute, billed separately.
Important: Lindy's credit system is usage-based and costs depend on what your agents do. Simple tasks (send a Slack message) use 1 credit. Complex tasks (multi-step web research, CRM update) use 5–10 credits per action. Voice calls use significantly more. Monitor credit consumption for the first two weeks before choosing a plan.
Go to lindy.ai. The 7-day free trial gives full access to Plus features. Connect your Gmail or Outlook and Google Calendar during setup — these are required for the most valuable agents.
Lindy has 50+ pre-built templates. The email triage template is the best starting point for most users — it demonstrates how agents work in practice and delivers immediate value. Select it, review the configuration, connect your inbox and turn it on. Watch what it does for a few days before customising.
Each agent has a system prompt you can edit in plain English. This is where you teach Lindy your preferences: "Always reply formally to clients from enterprise companies. Flag emails from [specific domain] as urgent. Do not draft replies to cold outreach — archive them." The more specific your instructions, the better the agent performs.
Go to Integrations and connect the apps your agents need access to: Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce, Airtable and others. Lindy uses OAuth — you grant access to each app individually. The agents can only access the apps you explicitly connect.
On the mobile app or via iMessage, you can converse with your Lindy agents directly. "What meetings do I have tomorrow?" "Draft a follow-up to my conversation with [name] from last week." "Research [company] before my 3 PM call." This is Lindy's most distinctive experience — a 24/7 assistant you can reach by text.
Be specific in your agent instructions. Vague instructions produce unpredictable agents. Instead of "manage my email", write "label emails from [domain] as Urgent, archive cold outreach unless from companies over 500 employees, and draft replies to any email containing the words 'invoice' or 'payment' within 2 hours of receipt." Lindy follows instructions literally — precision pays off.
Use human-in-the-loop for consequential actions. Lindy can be configured to always ask before sending emails, updating CRM records or taking other consequential actions. During setup, enable review for anything that affects other people. Once you trust the agent's judgement on a specific task, remove the review requirement for that action only.
Monitor credit consumption in week one. Different tasks consume very different credit amounts. A week of active use will show you exactly which agents are credit-heavy. Adjust your plan or reduce agent scope based on real usage data before committing to a tier.
Lindy AI was founded by Flo Crivello, formerly of Uber, and Jack Altman. The platform uses large language models — including integrations with Claude Sonnet 4.5 (added September 2025, per Lindy's official communications), OpenAI models, and others — to power agents that reason rather than follow rigid rules. The distinction is architectural: Lindy agents use LLM inference at decision points, not just for text generation.
When no API exists for a tool that an agent needs to access, Lindy's computer use feature allows agents to navigate websites by simulating browser actions — clicking, typing, scrolling, reading page content. This extends agent capability beyond the 5,000 official API integrations to any tool with a web interface. Per Lindy's official documentation, this feature is available on Plus and Enterprise plans.
Gaia is Lindy's voice AI system for autonomous phone calls. Agents can make and receive calls for appointment scheduling, lead qualification, customer support and other phone-based workflows. Voice calls are billed per minute at $0.19, separate from the monthly subscription credits. Phone numbers are $10 per month each.
Per Lindy's official website, the platform is SOC 2, HIPAA and GDPR compliant. HIPAA compliance and advanced security features are available on Enterprise plans.
Credit consumption by task type: Simple app actions ~1 credit. AI text processing (email drafting, summarisation) ~3–7 credits. Multi-step research ~5–15 credits per session. Voice calls ~265 credits per 15-minute call.
