Learn how great stories are structured.
Stuck at any point? Ask an AI about this page →🎯 Today's goal: Your child learns the three-act structure and uses it to build a complete story outline.
🔥 Warm Up
Warm Up
Think of your favourite story — book, film, game. What happens at the very beginning, the very middle, and the very end?
"Most great stories follow a pattern. Today you learn it — and use it."
🤖 The Activity

I want to write a story about [child picks: a setting + a character type + a problem — e.g. a lighthouse keeper who discovers the light is lying]. Help me plan it using three-act structure. Give me the key events in each act.
📋 Type this exactly
What is the single most important moment in a story — the moment that everything else builds toward and away from? Give me 3 examples from well-known stories.

📋 Type this exactly
What is the most common structural mistake beginner writers make — the one thing that makes a story feel unsatisfying even if all the individual scenes are good?
Ask: does this mistake appear in any story your child knows well?
🛡️ Safety Moment
“AI is a tool, not a friend”
AI can outline a story structure for any premise in seconds. The outline is scaffolding. The actual writing — the sentences, the details, the specific choices that make a story yours — is human work.

Questions to ask
- What is the most important moment in your story plan?
- What happens if you skip the middle act entirely?
- Name a story that breaks the three-act structure — does it still work?
What to watch for
