Regulatory Changelog: What Changed, When

What changed and when, across every product guide here. Regulation is the part of a build that moves after you have finished, so this records when each rule arrived — and which ones have not arrived yet.

What this is

One dated record of what changed and when, across every product guide on this site.

It exists because regulation is the part of a build that moves after you have finished. A guide tells you the rule as at the day it was written; this tells you when the rule arrived, and what is still coming.

Note

Every entry links to the guide that relies on it, where the instrument is named, dated and typed by source. Nothing here is a summary of the law — it is an index of when things moved, with a route to the page that explains each one.

The shape of it

Already in forceStill ahead
46 changes, the earliest in 201713 dates, out to 2028
Watch out

The date to circle is 1 January 2027. Three separate instruments commence that day — IRDAI’s named-seller requirement, the RBI Responsible Business Conduct Second Amendment on bundling and dark patterns, and the Fourth Amendment on recovery conduct. Anyone touching insurance distribution or collections has one deadline for three unrelated pieces of work, and they were notified months apart.

Where to go next

Watch out

This is an index of dates, not a statement of the law. Indian and European regulation both change by notification, sometimes between one update of this page and the next. Every entry links to a guide where the instrument is named and dated — check there, and then check the instrument. Nothing here is legal advice.

Sources

This page is an index of dates. Each guide it links to carries the instrument, dated and typed.

  1. officialThe notified instruments themselves — every date here comes from an instrument named and dated on the guide it links to — RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, UIDAI, FIU-IND, GSTN and the EU AI Act. This page indexes them; the guides cite them. www.rbi.org.in
  2. officialEUR-Lex — Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 — the AI Act and the Digital Omnibus that amended its timetable, which account for the European entries. eur-lex.europa.eu

Checked 17 September 2026. Forward dates are as currently notified and have moved before — the AI Act high-risk timetable shifted twice in 2026 alone.
